History of Hoffmann motorcycles and logo

Hoffmann is a German bicycle manufacturer. During the short period from 1948 to 1954 motorcycles were released under this brand name. Talented engineers developed some models with a small volume of engines and received the license to produce the Vespa scooters. Later they designed motorcycles with the boxer type of engine. But this idea was unsuccessful. These motorcycles looked sophisticated, but they were too expensive. In addition, the engine was quite weak and unreliability. Financial difficulties, caused by development expenditure, construction, and boxer engine completion, were the main reason of company`s bankruptcy.
