Sachs company is one of the oldest motorcycle manufacturers in the world. It is only a few years younger than famous Harley-Davidson brand. Firm`s history began in 1886 when K. Mashutc based a bicycle factory named Hercules-Werken. From the very beginning, only the 8 employees worked there, but in 8 years this number rose to 170. The company released ball bearings, bicycle parts, and motorcycle engines. In 1903, Sachs launched a production of the first motorcycles and bicycles with a motor. In 30-ies K. Mashutc started cooperation with Fichtel-Sachs concern and decided to join it. 1995 was a really remarkable year in the history of the firm. It stopped releasing bicycles and focused on producing of motorcycles under the Sachs brand. In 2010, it has become the leader in electric bikes releasing. Nowadays, talented engineers work at new models of motorcycles and scooters.
