Spain has been manufacturing motorcycles since the 1910s, and Spanish motorbike brands still make up a significant part in the global motorbike market. However, globalization has played a nasty trick on Spanish manufacturers, because they found it hard to compete with other technologically advanced brands. Today, the Spanish seem very enthusiastic about lightweight motorcycles and scooters, which belong to famous brands, yet are assembled in Spain. Meanwhile, these brands are closing Spain-based assembly lines and moving to Asia.
