The Vespa borrowed the desire to approve the image using a specially prepared base from the classic heraldry. Unlike calligraphic fonts, the font chosen by Vespa designers did not allow the use of the continuation of one of the letters as such a basis, so the more traditional variant of underscoring came at an opportune time. And the additional bend of the first letter contributes to the creation of a dynamic structure with a pronounced direction of motion.
